Attention All Facebook Friends: Le Book Nook, LLC is having its Grand Opening on Saturday March 24th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
We at, Le Book Nook are most honored to be featuring three very special local Authors. Each one of these individuals are celebrities, in their own right.
At 11:00 to 1:00 we will be hosting, John L. Smith, author of, “Amelia‘s Long Journey.” John is known to most of us Las Vegans as a long time columnist working with the Review Journal. He will be accompanied by his lovely daughter, Amelia. You’ll not want to miss this special occasion. This is not only a book signing, but it is Amelia’s 16th birthday. Truly this is a day to celebrate. John’s book is a true account of Amelia, and the courageous challenge this very special young lady has endured battling the dreaded disease, cancer. It’s however, not only about her struggle. It clearly depicts the spirit of a brave young girl who simply wouldn’t give up. Her incredibly positive attitude and faith has seen her through this encounter. It’s also about her parents who loved and supported her beyond measure. Be sure to come and celebrate Amelia’s birthday with us.
From 1:00 to 3:00 Le Book Nook will be hosting Betty Bunch, author of, “High Heels and Headdresses”. It is a great read. Ms. Bunch talks about her many zany experiences lived as a Las Vegas Show Girl. After reading her book I must say, we’re lucky she’s still around to sign it for us. Betty is also well known for her acting in many major TV shows. Her book, relates to characters she played, and television shows she’s appeared in. You’ll love her warm and enthusiastic personality as she takes you back to those Show Girls of Yesteryear.
From 3:00 to 5:00, as a finale to our grand opening, and book signing we are honored to introduce Mr. Brian Hurlburt author of, “Las Vegas Country Club: An Icon Chronicle.” It’s a beautifully photographed table book of the several interesting shots of the original club, and the golf course. You’ll no doubt recognize many of the member’s photographs.
Throughout the decades, there have been many rumors and legends shared about this first and only Country Club in Nevada. The legends also included a list of illustrious members, rumored to be everyone from movie stars, high standing politicians, to a select few mobsters as well. Brian’s book is the first to break the veil of mystery surrounding this Icon, telling the true facts of many interesting scenarios and the people involved. You’ll want to take this beautifully illustrated book home as a treasure to be placed on your coffee table. It is a real conversation stopper.
